(8) Thiru Suresh Balu Zone 5:

(a) Koyambedu is the entry point to the city and traffic congestion is very much felt in IRR, EVR Periyar Salai and other major roads in the city. To reduce the traffic congestion in these roads suitable recommendations may be made in the draft MP II.

(b) CMDA officials may also participate in the Ward Committee meetings.

(9) The Councilor of Ward No 28

Advanced action for provision of Infrastructure facilities should be made to improve the infrastructure levels in the city.

(10) Tmt.Uma Saraswathi , Councilor ,Ward No.145

(a) Medical waste will be a serious concern in future and measures should be taken to dispose it safely.

(b) A subway may be constructed in Kamaraj Salai near Light House.

(11) Thiru. Durai, Councilor, Ward No 57

(a) A fly over may be constructed at the intersection of Konnur High Road and Medavakkam High Road.

(b) The Open space reservation areas should be handed over to Chennai Corporation, and CMDA should not take out them.

(12) Thiru Prabakar, Councilor, Ward No63

(a) A RUB at the Railway Level Crossing in ward No.63 may be proposed in Draft MP II

(13) Thiru ---

(a) The draft Master Plan II should spell out strategies for employment creation.

(b) The planning permissions for all type of buildings should be vested with the Chennai Corporation.

(14) Thiru Muthukrishnan, Councilor Ward No.12

(a) An exclusive road way may be constructed for the container movement to avoid accidents.

(b) Proposals to improve the traffic in North Chennai should be included in Draft Master Plan-II.

(c) In land waterway transport between Chennai Central and Ennore may be developed.

(15) Thiru Saidai Ravi, Opposition Leader and Councilor Ward No.116

(a) All the waterways in the Chennai city should be cleaned up.

(b) The scrap market at Border Thottam at Triplicane should be shifted to outskirts of the city.

(16) Thiru Ramalingam, Ruling party leader 

(a) NOC for water supply and sewage connection for G+1 construction should be expedited.

(b) Powers to Chennai Corporation to issue PP for G+2 construction should be given

(c) A joint meeting with all the departments concerned to discuss the Draft MP-II may be convened.

In the concluding remarks, VC, CMDA said that most of the issues are related to Traffic and transportation, delegation of powers for issuance of planning permission, issuance of NOC for water supply and sewer connection, handing over of Open Space Reservation to Chennai Corporation, etc.

As regards handing over of Open Spaces Reserved areas taken over by CMDA, it has already been written to Chennai Corporation to take over these lands. It will be handed over to Chennai Corporation immediately after CMDA receives response from Chennai Corporation.

Delegation of powers to Chennai Corporation for issuance of Planning Permission for all type of buildings is an issue involving Government’s policy decision.

VC, CMDA requested that Chennai Corporation and other Government agencies should come forward to part their land for the construction of multilevel parking complexes so as to solve the parking problems in Chennai Metropolitan Area.

He thanked all the members present for giving valuable suggestions, which will be considered before finalization of the Draft Master Plan-II.
