MASTER PLAN

The Draft Second Master Plan submitted to Government earlier was consented by the Government in G.O.Ms No.598, H&UD Dept. dated 30.6.1995.  After public consultation, it was submitted to Government in December 1995.  Because of the High Court Interim stay, further action could not be taken then and the Writ Petition  was dismissed in 2001.  The Government in G.O.Ms No. 408 H&UD Dept. dated 5.10.2001, returned the Draft Second Master Plan to CMDA for modification taking into account subsequent urban developments made, etc.  The updated draft Second Master Plan was resubmitted to Government in December 2005 with the recommendations to Government to give principle clearance so as to consult public by publishing the draft Second Master Plan.  The Government in G.O.Ms. No.331, H&UD Dept., dated 5.12.2006  have returned the same with the directions to prepare a fresh Draft Master Plan-II incorporating the further developments in the field and submit the proposal for consent under the Section-24(2) of the T.N. Town & Country Planning Act, 1971.  As directed by the Government, further action is being taken.
